At Climate Health Equity Africa (CHEA), we believe that good health is the foundation for learning, growth, and sustainable community development. This belief fueled one of our most impactful interventions yet, a targeted Deworming Project that reached underserved children in vulnerable communities.
In many rural and peri-urban areas across Nigeria, intestinal worm infections remain a silent epidemic. These parasites rob children of essential nutrients, stunting growth, weakening immunity, and reducing school attendance. Sadly, despite how preventable and treatable these infections are, many children still go without basic medical interventions.
Through the CHEA Deworming Initiative, we provided free deworming treatment to pupils under the age of five in public primary schools.
Administered WHO-recommended deworming drugs to children
Partnered with school authorities and local health workers for smooth implementation
Conducted health talks on personal hygiene and the importance of clean water
Distributed informational flyers and materials to parents and teachers
Deworming At NKST Primary School
Through the CHEA Deworming Initiative, we provided free deworming treatment to 70 pupils under the age of five in wannune town, Benue state. These children, some of the most at-risk in our communities, received not only medication but also fun, age-appropriate education on hygiene and health.
Deworming At LGEA (Local Govt Education Authority) Primary School
Through the CHEA Deworming Initiative, we provided free deworming treatment to 80 pupils under the age of five in wannune town, Tarka LGA, Benue state.
Deworming At Mbakor Community Primary School
Through the CHEA Deworming Initiative, we provided free deworming treatment to 100 pupils under the age of five in wannune town, Tarka LGA, Benue state.
